Hi, I'm Jessica Shelton he heart and eye behind the lens at Well, Mama Tried Photography. I’ve been capturing life through photography since 2018, and my passion lies in creating images that feel real—authentic moments over stiff, posed shots.
As both a photographer and an artist, I see the world a little differently. My love for creativity flows naturally into my work, whether I’m chasing golden hour sunlight outdoors or crafting something unique in my studio. I believe photos should tell a story, not just fill a frame.
Outside of photography, I’m a wife of nearly 18 years, a mom to five amazing kids, and a proud Oma to two little ones who keep life fun and unpredictable. Maybe that’s why I love out-of-the-box sessions and new, imaginative ideas—I know life is best captured when it’s a little unscripted.

Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes. If I can fit it into my schedule, we can make it happen
What should we wear for our session?
That's all personal preference and the session you are scheduling. We can discuss ideas when you schedule your session
How long does it take to get our photos?
Two weeks is a safe estimate, however, I usually get things moving along more quickly.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. To schedule your session, there is a deposit minimum according to the session you book. The deposit will apply to your total due on the day of your session.
